The estimated cost of a single IVF cycle is around R90,000. This includes medication, ultrasound monitoring, egg retrieval, laboratory procedures, and embryo transfer. It does not include the cost of freezing (cryopreservation) of embryos. Prices may change annually according to CPI adjustments.
An IVF cycle usually lasts 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the protocol used. Ovarian stimulation generally takes 10–12 days, but this can vary depending on individual response. If embryo transfer is not done in the same cycle, additional time may be needed to prepare the uterus for transfer in a later cycle.
The number of injections varies depending on the IVF protocol, medication dosage, and individual response. Most patients receive daily stimulation injections, and sometimes a second injection is added once the follicles reach a certain size. In some cases, a dual trigger injection may be needed to finalize egg maturation.
IVF success rates are highest for women under 35, as egg quality and quantity decline with age, especially after 37. Age is important, but overall health, ovarian reserve, and individual fertility factors are also considered when planning treatment.
Please Note: This clinic does not operate a sperm bank and does not remunerate or recruit sperm donors.
